Seaport Square
Seaport Square is currently under development in the Seaport District. This incredible community complex will be at the heart of the Innovation District and located across the street from the Federal Courthouse. Groundbreaking ceremonies took place in November 2014 and the first phase of the project is anticipated to be completed in 2017.
Seaport Square will be located in an area that has been an eyesore to the area for many years. Now, this 20 square block project will become the center of attention in the Innovation District. The first phase of this multi-purpose project will consist of two beautiful glass towers that will be filled with luxury apartments and condos.
The first tower is named The Benjamin and will contain 354 luxury apartments ranging in size from studios to two bedroom masterpieces. The second tower will be the VIA and will have 458 ultra-modern luxury apartments. These apartments will range in size from studio to three bedrooms. The VIA will also set aside a certain number of units to be classified as innovation units. These innovation units will offer all of the latest technologies and gadgets for those who consider themselves "techies."
After the first phase is competed, Seaport Square will add a boutique hotel, over 250,000 square feet of retail space, a bowling alley and a large cinema complex. Commercial space for offices will also be developed within this area.
The objective of the development is to provide luxury living standards in the Seaport District. Seaport Square will build parks and beautiful pathways to connect other area apartment communities with Seaport Square. It is the intention of the developers to create a "cultural corridor" in this area by connecting these communities. Future plans also include art galleries within this area and a performing arts center is currently under consideration.
The Seaport Square apartments will offer residents everything they could desire. Modern and spacious apartments designed with green technologies in mind. The building is trying to attain a minimum of LEED Silver Standard before completion with a goal of reaching gold standard. This conscious effort to save energy and protect the environment is another benefit of this community.
Underground parking will be available for residents as well as bike storage. Bike rental options and Zip Car stations will be located within the community. There is also easy access to public transportation. Residents of this area will be within walking distance of restaurants, entertainment and cultural venues, and many different retail centers in the Seaport District. Seaport Square is located near the financial and business district and has easy access to Boston and Cambridge.
This community was created to set the standard for innovative and luxury living.
